I miss my little sewing blog! I didn't write here for one year. I sewed all this time, I updated my me-made list but didn't write proper posts.


I participated in Me-Made-May last year (all my outfits are in flickr album). I only finished one garment%(

I hesitated to participated this year or not because I knew that I could wear me-made garment every day, I knew that I need to make more separate tops, some shorts for summer and maybe some active clothes for hiking and cycling. But Me-Made-May is soo much fun! So I couldn't miss it!

So nice month because of MMM too! I can wear all my dresses, skirts and make pictures of myself, a lot of fun! Also I would like to see what other participants will wear and post on Flickr or Instagram.

Plans 2015

I made huge plans for 2015 as usually. I am not sure how I will manage to achieve them all but I will try. The main goal is that I should enjoy my sewing.

The next goal is to win our bet with Semeon that I can make 50 items in 2 years so 15 items should be finished till end of June. I hope the victory will be mine !%)

Also I want to control my fabric stash(this is most difficult) and budget, last year my sewing expenses were too big. I plan to sew not only from Burda, to sew to other persons, to sew some man's clothes, lingerie, a dress per season(at least), finish some old UFOs, use some vintage patterns, learn how to make welt pocket, stop to fear garments with buttons (I don't like buttonholes), make a leather jacket and a wool jacket. I want to knit a hat or maybe two and try to start sweater. Uhh, big plans! And I want to blog regularly%)

Hope I will make again Me Made May and two more challenges - Burda Challenge(I will sew from January issue in January and so one) and Vintage Pledge(I plan to make 2 vintage items). Happy sewing!

Summary of 2014

Before making some plans for 2015 I would like to summarize last year's sewing. 2014 was not too sewing year because of different reasons. The main one was overseas moving, I got my sewing space only in May. Also on the new place you had to do a lot of stuff instead of sewing.

Totally I finished 13 items ( and started some more%). 4 items were not for me. I made 2 kid's skirts, friend's skirt and cushion for our couch. 2 items were half-made in 2013 and I finished them. 2 items were refashioned.

I made 7 skirts (3 - not for me), 1 t-shirt, 1 dress, 1 turtleneck. 2 refashioned items were skirts too%)
I used 3 Burda patterns, 1 Ottobre, 1 KwikSew, 5 self-drafted or without pattern.

I bought a lot of beautiful fabrics, failed in Summer Stashbust 2014, participated in Spring Sewing Swap 2014.

My favorite made is summer dress, I should blog it%) And I should make more sack dresses, they are so comfortable!

Also my favorite is the turtleneck because it is very useful and I can wear it with skirts, jeans and even my blue dress.

The next - ideas for 2015!%)

What's going on?

The summer is going on so I am slow in my blogging%) Honestly in my sewing too - after Me-Made-May I only have finished already half-done tshirt and refashioned 2 skirts but I have big plans for warm sewing summer and hope I will implement a part of them.

I got a big present from Merche - 4 Patrones magazines with nice patterns, now want to made them all! Ok, not all but many of them%)  I will put something from the magazines in my current sewing list.


I participate in  Spring Sewing Swap 2014 organized by Kestrel Makes. I was paired with Tine from Hamburg. My parcel is somewhere on its trip and will arrive very soon I hope!!

I was thinking to join Summer Stashbust 2014 by Sally but failed just in the begging, eh! But I believe even with this failure I will continue to participate saying that my stashbusting started from 1 July%)) I will post some my sewing plans soon. Also I still should blog some my fresh and old me-made, so a lot of writing and sewing%)

So these are a lot of numbers%))) What do they mean? This year I wear more me-made garments%) There were no home outfits but I would like to make some home trousers and maybe warm hoody or cardi. My favorite clothes element is a skirt, no doubt!

I like Me-Made-May! This was very positive event, I liked to show my garments, to wear nice stuff every day, to make pictures, to get lovely comments and to see outfit all over the world. Yes, near the end of month it became little bit tricky but in any way it was very nice event%)

I didn't manage to finish my 3 UFO only one from my list and fresh one. The butterfly t-shirt still waits its time as brown skirt (I am really not happy with this skirt, yeap).

I decided to put more me-made tops in my sewing list, woven and knit, lets start with summer's ones. Also I want to sew some trousers, shorts and cardi. And I need to make a jacket too! So big plans till next May%))

The last conclusion is that I can remake good patterns. I like to make new patterns but think that repeating is boring but now I changed my mind and suppose good patterns should be made one more time or even two more times! 

Summary of 2013

Yes, I know, it is May 2014, but I need to make plans for 2014 sewing year and because of this I should look at my 2013 sewing year%))

• The main point of my 2013 plan was to make 20 items(as a part of my bet with Semeon about sewing 50 items in 2 year). I managed with it pretty good. I made 21 items%) We decided to extend our bet for a half of the year because of our moving. So I hope I would manage%) 

Let's see further.

• to decrease my fabric stash by 30 meters  - I failed completely!%(( I don't have now Evernote with my stash's database so I will not scare you with the numbers!
• to finish my 3 UFO (silk dress, gray dress, brown skirt) - no, I didn't make them. I have some big issue with finishing some started project but I have to do this finally.
• to make different types of clothes (not only skirts%))  - 60% done.

There is plenty of room for improvement this year! Next post will be about my plans.

Hurray!! It is May again! I was hesitating about my participating this year - we will move at 1 May, also I am looking for job and will look for stuff in empty apartment so it will be not very easy challenge with MMM. But it was so much fun last year that I want it again!

I have more me-made items this year so I think I will be ok with challenge, it will not not only my favorite black skirt for thirty days%))

More new dresses!!

So I suppose I am back on the track!%))
My last post for soooo long time ago, unbelievable! I didn't stop to sew in last July, I only started my sloooow moving from one country to another one, so I didn't have any time for blogging. But I managed to sew a little bit and even made 21 things in 2013 all together! %) I hope to add some of them in my blog, probably in May because I would like to participate in Me-Made-May despite the lack of new made by me clothes.

Next time I will post my plans for 2014 and hope to start sew more and more! I only need to buy iron and mirror, also I need sewing table and ironing board!%))

In spite of  these missing instruments I started to make Birth-Day Dress%)) Last year I make one, but I need to change it a little bit and then it will appear here!%))

Hope this year I will make good dress from first attempt!
I already bought the fabric and choose the pattern! I hope to make muslin in the beginning of the next week and cut the fabric.

Only one unsewn item remains in "current sewing list" so I will write the next one! These lists motivate me pretty well!
Really my backlog of ideas, wishing and sewing plans is huuuuuuuuge! Also I have a huge box of different UFOs so I decided to include them too in my current list so not only new projects will be realized.

I was at short Bavarian trip, I have 3 new me-made garments waiting to be post in my blog, also I need to add Me-Made-May,13 photos here too.

I have finished only 4 from 5 items from my sewing list (I finished my b-day dress, hura!! May be it was not perfect but i enjoyed wearing it!), so I couldn't buy any fabrics but I bought some sewing presents for myself in Munich and Nuremberg, I couldn't resist!

I have here 3 fabrics - linen(!) boucle for a jacket, cotton denim for a skirt, a small piece of stretchable silk for lingerie set, also some notions and one(!) Patrones. I wanted more magazines because there was a huge assortment in the shop at Munich railway station, but they cost 10 euro, and I already have a lot of  magazines, so I took only one because I like them very much%))

Now I need to write down my new sewing list!! It will be soon!

Me-Made-May

 I was thinking a lot and decided to participate in the famous Me-Made-May!

 I don't have a huge me-made wardrobe so for the first time 3 days per week will be perfect. Yes, I wear every day me-made home skirts but this is not interesting, isn't it? So let's stop with 3 days, the most difficult for me will be to dress and go outside because very often I just spend the whole day at home%) Also I plan to make one post per week with the outfits.

I hope this winter is over so I updated my winter sewing list for something little bit more light.

I decided that I had to concentrate on my stashbusting. To be more exact, on not increasing it%) So I will not buy any new fabric before I finish 5 specific garments. If I finish them I can by one or two pieces of fabric during my May trip.

Intermediate review of sewing 2013: first 3 months

So 3 months of 2013 passed and I want to look on my plans for this year and see the progress and the fields on which I should concentrate.

Let's see:

• to make 20 items - I made 3. I hope to increase my sewing speed because I want to make some summer tops and skirts and this is more faster sewing tasks.
• to decrease my fabric stash by 30 metres - BIG FAIL!  I will write about this separately. 
• to finish my 3 UFO -  no progress. But I plan to make the skirt from the UFO list in April. 
• to make different types of clothes (10 types) - I made 2, one in progress, well done!
• to make last summer's projects - next month's task
• to use patterns from different producers (8) - first one in progress only%(
• to try to make The Big Project (a leather jacket) - I traced pattern, bought zippers(it was difficult to find ones), am looking for lining and am going to make muslin.
• to make a catalog of my patterns - in progress, it is difficult task because I buy new magazines all the time.

My plans and wishes for 2013

I should post my plans and wishes for sewing 2013 before I blog first FO of 2013%)) I wrote my plans a week or two ago but didn't have time to write them here. So let's start%) I should say that usually I plan more then I can do so this is something as plan maximum or more like my wishes.

Once in last November I with Semeon bet if I could make 50 items in 2 year so first item in my plan is

• to make 20 items in this year including some big refashion and home items too. I should make a counter for this my challenge%)) (Update 03/05 - 8 items done)

Then

• to decrease my fabric stash by 30 metres (fail,fail)
  
• to finish my 3 UFO -  silk dress, gray dress, brown skirt. They all in my winter sewing list, so hope I will manage with this.(no progress)
• to make different types of clothes (not only skirts%))

It is little bit later for fall plans but I should post it in any way, just for encouraging and motivating myself%)) So let´s say it is the cold time plan!

I decided not to create too a long list because I know that I can be very sad after not completing it.. But if the list is very long, of course I wouldn´t complete it, I am too slow. Complicated!!!

1. I need to finish some UFO. The first one is grey dress, I started it in the spring then dropped it in the warm times. I need to fix some problems with the darts.

2. Next UFO, very long one. Silk dress, I started it very long ago, it is too difficult for me - difficult fabric, pretty thin and slippery, cut  on the bias, french seams! Ohhh!

Just some short updates%)
3 projects on the sewing table, not at once, but almost at one moment, yes!%) It is too difficult for me to choose always so I just start some projects and then will choose by the mood.
