Review of Burda 05/2013 and 06/2013

The weather is not very warm in SPb and I cannot make the photos of my new refashioned top%(

So let´s make some Burda reviews%) It is time to make August review but I want to save my favorite picks from May and June issues first, just for me. The review of July number will be skipped because I didn´t like this issue and left it in the shop. 

The May issue was pretty nice! I chose a lot of dresses from it. Look!

Also I like a jacket which was in previous number but in plus size section.

Yes! I like the pockets!

The June Burda was rich with nice dresses too!%))

Also I like 2 outfits - a jacket with shorts and a blouse with a skirt.

But my favorite from this issue is a skirt!!!

My picks from Burda 03/2013 and 04/2013

It will be a time for Burda 05/2013 review but I still in winter %(  Anyway I woud like to keep my favorites from March and April Burda issues.

So start: some dresses from 03/2013  - 131 and 111 with the interesting back! The first one is nice with sweater in cold times.

Linen jacket with nice collar and biker jacket.

Too romantic for me? Vintage blouse.

A cardigan. I am very big fan of cardigans, they are very comfortable in use, so I plan to make this one for our cold summer from black knit.

So this was March issue and now will be April one%) Let's see!

Dresses -  one maxi dress, one sack dress (I think they are very comfortable in summer) and one mini dress ( I like American necklines).

A blouse (I want to make it from polka dot fabric, maybe red?) and a top (very stashbusting because of the drape, you need 2 meter of fabric).

Also I like the whole outfit - a blouse and pants (maybe with another print).

My delayed review of burda 02/2013

I haven't bought Burda 01-2013 because I decided that a lot of patterns were rather repetitive so I could easily skip that issue. The most interesting pattern from January is this blouse(or a dress based on the same pattern). I decided to buy it in PDF if I would understand that can live without it%)

Favorite pattern from 01-2013

The February issue I found more interesting so it went into my collection. The favorite pattern is raglan shirt. I have already traced it though I have 3 projects in my queue. I mean nearest projects - almost on the sewing table, not somewhere in my head, there I have endless line%) I want to make long sleave, dress and short-sleeve too! Of course I am a fan of raglan, you know!%)

I think I like all knit patterns from this issue%) Look, how nice they are%)Now I want to find red polka dot top!



Also I like the most patterns in Classic section. I should make Marlene trousers for my wardrobe only I don't know if it is possible to wear them without high heels.


There are some nice dresses in the magazine, I like the gathered one, but this pattern is for petite woman, so may be I will try to make the same skirt for summer.



Also I like a jacket and shorts from City section.

Some basic shorts, will be good in linen.

Nice blouson.

 

The raglan jumper is the first in my sewing list from this issue. I plan to make it to wear with my new blue dress.

Sewing Summary 2012

It is time to post a new sewing plans and resolutions for 2013 but at first I should write a summary of 2012 %)

This was a year when I start to sew a little bit difference, sewing took a little bit more of my time and my attention among my different hobbies. I should write a story about my sewing in past but in this case this post will be too long so I would do this later!%))

So 2012 was a year of new sewing!%)) We bought me a new sewing machine and I have started to plan to sew more and more, I have made a big stash of fabrics(about this I would write separately too%)) and old pattern magazines, I even bought some Big 4 and vintage envelope patterns, I won my first giveaway, I sewed first time with knit fabric, I finished my first knitting project (this was almost UFO), I made a lot stuff for apartments(curtains, tablecloths, bed linens, covers for stools), a lot of alterations of RTW clothes (jeans, shorts etc for me and Semeon), finished some UFOs and made some new ones. I made a dress for my friend, shorts for her daughter, I made for myself 2 new skirts, one jumper, some home clothes, fleece socks for wellies %)  I started this blog and wrote some pattern reviews and posted my sewing on different sites. I learned a lot about sewing technique, different tips and tricks! I  stopped be afraid to insert zippers%)))))

Numerically these are not too much, I know that I am a plan maker and not very good executor but I will try to change the last one in this year because I think I made perfect basis for this %)

My New Year's presents!%))

Here in Russia New Year's Day is more popular holiday then Christmas, so that why I have named my post the New Year's presents%))

Packages!!

Last week in one day I received a lot of packages! The all of them related to sewing!%) The first one was my giveaway win from The Perfect Nose. I was very excited to win and very excited to get my package from Australia! See which nice stamps I have now%)) Also the magazine and postcard and nice patterns!! Thanks!!!

The second one was the package from The Big 4 . This was my first purchase there so I took only 3 patterns just to try%)) I choose pretty simple patterns, but I want very much B5734. Shipping cost to Russia is pretty high, so even with $1.99 sale the price for one pattern is pretty high!

And finally, the forth were the silk fabrics! A lot of them!!! I want to made long wide skirt, some dresses, short skirt etc! I bought a lot because the price was very good!!

So this is was my happy sewing day of presents! Ok, really, I payed for almost all of that but it seems like present%))

Review Burda 12/2012

Sooo, I bought a new magazine! I like to make review of the paper issue, not the preview on the site, I don't know why%)

Burda 12/2012

This was not only one magazine this month, I bought a lot of old Burda, also some old reprints of La Mia Boutique ( we have in Russia one magazine which reprint LMB with some delay), may be some day I will make post with the best models from the old magazines too, it can be interesting!

So, for me Burda 12/2012 is not the best issue of the year. But there is some pretty nice patterns. Let's start!

Some pretty nice jackets - one, two, three (of course, not in gold, I don't know where I can wear gold jacket%).

Very interesting one is this jacket, but I am afraid it is too difficult for me! It has the highest difficulty in sewing!I think this is the most interesting pattern in this magazine!

The most interesting pattern, IMHO

There are some basic tops, some of them can be nice at the summer time - with long sleeves, without sleeves and without sleeves version 2. Also I like a dress based on the last pattern(but not from this fabric!)

I like military coat (hm, I am pretty big fan of military style, I think%)

I like the both looks with this skirt.

And my favorite section is City!
I like a hoody, a skirt, a jumper and a jacket!%)) I want them all! They are pretty my style, casual and interesting too!
